Famous still life artists are some of the most respected and sought after artists throughout the world. Their work is a testament to their ability to bring art to the masses with simplicity and beauty. The MDF began when the great French artist, Pierre Balanchine, decided to create a group of portraits using mostly photographs that he took himself. From these he was able to build up a large collection. When he began to paint, it was often with the purpose of creating something similar to a pastiche. This resulted in many of the colors being used in modern day art, although there were always a few who retained their traditional colors.

The Dalmatians would often depict scenes from nature in their artwork and the fruits of their labor would include exotic berries, blueberries, plums, pears, nectarines, and other fruits of the wild. The fourth group on our list would be the Flora-Phenatics. This was a grouping of painters who focused on flowers. The emphasis was on capturing the beauty of nature through their art. Two of the more popular and best known members of this genre of still life artists were Rembrandt and his student, the Dutch master Rembrandt. These two artists are considered to be among the best still life artists of all time.
