Raphael Paintings

Raphael is one of the most famous artists from the times of the Renaissance. His paintings have provided valuable insight into the religious life of the era. This artist made four famous works during his career which include the Sistine Madonna, The Virgin and Child with Two Angels, St. Barbara and the Virgin before the Door, The Nativity, Madonna and the Sonnets, The Battle of Alcazar, The Mill and the Bridge, and the Sistine Madonna after the Crucifix. Raphael had six paintings which he created between 1395 and 1401 for the Medici family. Most of these are still viewable at the Vatican.

These paintings provided an insight into the life of popes past and Pope ii. The most famous painting of Raphael which portrays the Madonna and Child depicts Mary and Child surrounded by angels. In another painting called The Nativity Raphael portrays the Virgin surrounded by a halo of light representing the angel Gabriel. The Last Supper and The Virgin and Child are two other paintings which have Raphael's name all over them.

Raphael had many similar paintings that are viewable in the Vatican Museum; The Nativity, The Virgin and Child, and The Last Supper. These three paintings symbolize the birth of Jesus Christ and are two of the most famous paintings from the Renaissance period. Raphael did not paint all of these paintings but he did create two which are very important to Christianity.

The most important painting in this collection is The Nativity and this is a painting that inspired the bible. The Virgin Mary and angels are seen in the scene along with the baby Jesus Christ. Raphael did not only paint this painting but he created the surrounding scenes which included the stable where Mary and baby Jesus was born, the crib, the stable roof, and the great stone staircase.

Another one of these paintings is The Virgin and Child with Saints. This is one of the most popular paintings from the Renaissance Period. The colors are soft blues and pinks with some purples thrown in. Some of the symbols are the cross, the scepter, and the thorns. Raphael also did many paintings about the Madonna and child with angels. This is one of the most popular paintings from the Vatican City and it includes angels holding the Madonna and child as they praise her.

Two other paintings from the Renaissance period include the Portrait of the Emperor Trajan and a Portrait of Pope Innocent III. The artist who created The Portrait of Trajan is Michelangelo. Raphael also created several paintings about Trajan and this artist is considered to be one of the best painters from the Renaissance period. Raphael created nine paintings about Trajan alone and all of them are extremely beautiful. Some of the subjects are the Trojan War, the war between Rome and Greece, and the deposition of Trajan. Some of the scenes in this painting include the Olympic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the Forum of Trajans.

One of the most interesting pieces of artwork from Raphael's career is The Madonna and Child with Saints. This particular painting represents Madonna and her child giving thanks to the angel of death. This particular work is from the era when artists were still painting people with the image of the Madonna on their body. This particular painting also includes the arch of Christ and the dove of peace. Raphael was a great religious artist and he used this theme in many of his paintings.
